Crush n Run Delivery in Central Indiana

Compactable crusher run for driveways, lanes, and pad bases. Delivered by owner-operator dump truck across Hendricks County and surrounding Central Indiana.

What Is Crush n Run?

Crush n run — also called crusher run or crush and run — is a blended aggregate made from crushed limestone and the stone dust (fines) that comes off the crusher. The mix typically runs from about 3/4 inch down to dust. The fines pack into the voids between the larger pieces so, when the material is laid and compacted, it locks together into a hard, stable surface that sheds water and supports vehicle weight.

In Central Indiana, the same material is sold under the INDOT name #53 limestone. Quarries here run a single product line and label it both ways depending on who's asking. Whether you call our shop and ask for "crush n run," "crusher run," or "#53," you'll get the same compactable driveway base — just delivered straight to your address.

What Crush n Run Is Used For

  • New gravel driveways — the standard 4–6 inch compacted base across Hendricks and Morgan counties.
  • Driveway repair and resurfacing — fills ruts and washouts, then re-crowns to shed water.
  • Pole barn and shed pad sub-base — compacts under concrete or as a finished gravel pad.
  • Farm lanes and equipment paths — handles tractor, skid steer, and truck traffic without rutting when properly crowned.
  • Parking pads — RV, boat, and trailer parking off the main drive.
  • Apron repair at the road tie-in where county trucks chew up the entrance.
  • Drainage backfill behind retaining walls and over French drain pipe (paired with a #8 layer around the perforated pipe itself).

Crush n Run vs #8 Stone

The two products solve different problems and most projects use both. Crush n run has fines, so it compacts and stays put — that's what you want for a driveway, base, or pad. #8 limestone is washed clean with no fines, so it doesn't compact and water drains right through it — that's what you want for French drains, pipe bedding, behind retaining walls, and as a clean top-dress over a finished crush n run base.

A common Hendricks County driveway build is 4–6 inches of compacted crush n run for the structural base, then a 1–2 inch top layer of #8 to cut dust and clean up the look. We can deliver both in a single day so the project doesn't stall.

Coverage and Tonnage

As a working estimate, one ton of crush n run covers about 80–100 square feet at 2 inches deep, or 40–50 square feet at 4 inches deep. A residential gravel driveway 100 ft long by 12 ft wide at 4 inches compacted runs roughly 18–22 tons. A 24x40 pole barn pad at 6 inches needs around 30–40 tons depending on how much you crown the edges.

For new construction over bare clay — common across Indiana — plan on 6 inches of compacted depth so the base can survive freeze-thaw cycles and heavy vehicle loads without sinking into the subgrade.

Delivery Process

We dispatch from our Danville yard and run loads daily across Hendricks County, western Marion County, and into Morgan County. When you call, we'll confirm tonnage, dump location, and access — including overhead lines, low branches, gates, and tight subdivision turn-ins — before the truck rolls. Most local orders are next-day; same-day is common for early morning calls.

For full-build projects, we can pair crush n run delivery with gravel driveway installation, gravel driveway repair, grading, or light excavation so you have one contractor handling material, prep, and finish. For repeat or contractor loads, see our dump truck hauling services.
