Quick Answer
- What is forestry mulching?
- Forestry mulching is a one-step land-clearing method that uses a forestry mulcher to grind brush, saplings, small trees, and invasive vegetation into mulch that stays on the ground as protective cover.
- What does forestry mulching cost?
- In Central Indiana, forestry mulching typically runs about $500–$1,500+ per acre for lighter vegetation, with dense or heavily wooded acreage costing more. Half-day and full-day rates are also available.
- What types of vegetation can be cleared?
- Light and heavy brush, saplings, small-to-medium trees, fence rows, vines, and invasive species such as honeysuckle, autumn olive, and multiflora rose.
- How long does a forestry mulching project take?
- Light, open acreage can be cleared in part of a day; dense, heavily wooded acreage takes one or more days. We give a realistic time estimate after a free on-site walkthrough.

What Is Pasture Reclamation?
Pasture reclamation is the process of clearing encroaching brush, saplings, briars, and invasive species from neglected fields and returning them to usable grazing or hay ground. Over a few seasons, an unmowed field fills with woody growth that crowds out grass and shrinks the productive area.
We reclaim pasture with a Bobcat T76 forestry mulcher that grinds the woody overgrowth into mulch in place. There are no burn piles and nothing to haul — the mulch layer protects the soil and breaks down to feed new grass. Where larger trees or stumps remain along edges, our excavator removes them.
After mulching, the field can be limed, fertilized, and seeded to bring back grazing and hay production. We can also grade rough spots and improve drainage and access.
